Türkiye has strongly rejected resolutions and reports adopted by the European Parliament (EP) that contain what Ankara describes as biased claims and baseless assessments against the country, SİA informs, citing the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA).
The latest resolution targeted the military and was once again condemned by Ankara.
"The decision adopted in the European Parliament, which contains unfounded and absurd allegations against the Turkish Armed Forces, is null and void. We fully support the statement issued by the Foreign Ministry of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus regarding this decision," the ministry declared.
It was further noted that the resolution, filled with slander, reflects a distorted and prejudiced approach influenced by certain circles within the EU, particularly the EP, regarding the Cyprus issue. "We find it concerning that EU institutions, in their stance on Cyprus, are increasingly moving away from historical realities and impartiality," the statement added.
The EP has repeatedly adopted resolutions demanding the withdrawal of Turkish Armed Forces from Cyprus.
