Goshgar Tahmazli, chairman of the Azerbaijan Food Safety Agency (AFSA), and Sun Meijun, director of the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China, have signed protocols regulating the export of poultry and seafood to the Chinese market, SİA informs via AFSA.
The agreements were reached during a working visit by a delegation led by Tahmazli to China.
The documents establish inspection, quarantine, and food safety requirements for the export of poultry, aquaculture products, and wild aquatic bioresources. The protocols create a legal basis for exports and open up new opportunities for local entrepreneurs.
The parties also discussed expanding access for Azerbaijani agricultural products to the Chinese market, digitalization, mutual recognition of certification, and cooperation in food safety.
The agency chairman also met with Luo Wen, Minister of the State Administration for Market Regulation of the People's Republic of China. The parties discussed strengthening state control, the implementation of effective inspection systems, and digital transformation.
