The Milli Majlis (Parliament) of Azerbaijan has addressed a congratulatory letter to President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva on the occasion of June 15 – National Salvation Day.
According to SİA, the relevant proposal was voiced by Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova at an extraordinary session of the parliament.
The speaker stated that when our state was facing the threat of destruction and disintegration, the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev saved Azerbaijan: "Heydar Aliyev's return to state leadership was the call of the people. Thus, Azerbaijan embarked on a path of sustainable development, and our country became an international center."
The speaker noted that Heydar Aliyev's statehood policy is being worthily continued by President Ilham Aliyev:
"The end of the 30-year occupation of our lands, the restoration of our sovereignty, and our political influence that grows every year are clear indicators of this."
