Papuashvili: Path to Azerbaijan–Armenia peace vital for Georgia

The emerging regional dynamic is crucial for the normalization of Azerbaijan–Armenia relations and progress toward a peace treaty, Speaker of the Georgian Parliament Shalva Papuashvili stated, Report informs.

Speaking to journalists in Armenia following the election victory of Nikol Pashinyan's party, Papuashvili emphasized that stability and cooperation in the South Caucasus are among Georgia's top priorities.

"The new regional dynamic, the path toward a peace treaty between Azerbaijan and Armenia, open borders, and ongoing dialogue between the two countries are important for Georgia," Papuashvili said.

He added that ensuring peace and stability in the region is a shared responsibility: "Peace and stability are vital for us. Pashinyan's promise was to secure peace and stability for Armenia, which ultimately means peace and stability for the entire region. This will benefit every state and people in the South Caucasus," he noted.
