Azerbaijan, Latvia to sign memorandum of co-op on consular matters

Azerbaijan and Latvia will sign a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in consular matters, SİA informs referring to the Latvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The document will be signed during the official visit of Latvian President Edgars Rinkēvičs to Azerbaijan, which will take place from April 21 to 23, 2026.

Latvian Foreign Minister Baiba Braže will accompany the head of state on his visit.

"Latvia and Azerbaijan will sign several documents confirming their cooperation. The Foreign Minister will sign a Memorandum of Understanding between the Latvian and Azerbaijani Ministries of Foreign Affairs on cooperation in consular matters, which will strengthen cooperation between the two sides in the exchange of consular information and experience.

The Foreign Minister Baiba Braže is also scheduled to hold a separate meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov. The ministers will discuss bilateral cooperation as well as issues on the regional and international agenda, including the Azerbaijan-Armenia peace process, the situation in Ukraine, and the Middle East," reads the message.
