Azerbaijan, Türkiye to hold joint military training

In alignment with the military cooperation agreement signed between Azerbaijan and Türkiye, a national flag change ceremony was conducted in preparation for the joint "Heydar Aliyev–2026" which is scheduled to take place in Kars, Türkiye, SİA informs, citing Azerbaijan's Defense Ministry.

Flag platoon, which set out from the headquarters of the Combined Arms Army, commenced its march from the city of Nakhchivan toward the Sadarak border crossing point, the Umid Bridge over the Araz River. Simultaneously, Türkiye"s platoon began its march from the city of Kars toward the designated venue of the ceremony.

Following the performance of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Independence March of the Republic of Türkiye, a flag change ceremony was conducted at the Umid Bridge.

Subsequently, during an event organized to mark dispatching of personnel and military equipment to the training site, the Commander of the Combined Arms Army, Lieutenant General Kanan Seyidov, delivered a speech highlighting the significance of the joint military exercise and wished the participants success.

Following the event, the units designated to participate in the exercise departed from the city of Nakhchivan.

The purpose of the exercise is to plan and execute joint operations in accordance with the principles of modern warfare, ensure effective interoperability, facilitate the exchange of experience in comprehensive combat support, and enhance the knowledge and skills of personnel.

In accordance with the exercise plan, combat operations under various conditions and execution of special tasks will be conducted.
