Iraq's presidential election will be held on February 1, SİA reports citing INA.
The new date was set by the country's Council of Representatives (parliament).
"The agenda for the session to be held on February 1 includes the swearing-in of a number of parliamentarians and the election of the country's president," according to a parliamentary press release published by the INA news agency .
Iraq's presidential elections were scheduled for January 27, but the parliamentary session was postponed due to a lack of quorum.
