President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Asif Zardari, received the Speaker of the Milli Majlis, Sahiba Gafarova, and the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, Numan Kurtulmuş, who were participating in the Third Trilateral Meeting of the Speakers of the Parliaments of Azerbaijan, Pakistan, and Türkiye in the city of Islamabad, the Press and Public Relations Department of the Milli Majlis told SİA.
During the meeting, an exchange of views took place on the relations between our countries and peoples, including the further strengthening of inter-parliamentary cooperation. It was emphasized that close political contacts and successful cooperation bring our peoples and states even closer together.
During the conversation, it was noted that the relations between our parliaments have an important and positive impact on the friendship and brotherhood ties between our countries, and in this regard, the trilateral cooperation mechanism of the Speakers of the Parliaments of Azerbaijan, Pakistan, and Türkiye was highlighted as being of special importance. The successful cooperation of the legislative bodies of Azerbaijan, Pakistan, and Türkiye within international parliamentary organizations was also noted with satisfaction.
During the meeting, satisfaction was expressed with the current high level of bilateral, as well as trilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Pakistan, and the contributions of our parliaments within this framework were positively evaluated.
An exchange of views also took place on other issues of mutual interest during the conversation.
