Azerbaijan's Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov received representatives of the Certified US Trade Mission on the Middle Corridor, currently visiting the country, SİA reports, citing the ministry.
The sides highlighted the historical significance of the discussions held on August 8 of this year in Washington with the participation of the Presidents of Azerbaijan and the United States, as well as the Prime Minister of Armenia, along with the documents signed during those talks.
It was emphasized that these agreements not only contribute to regional peace and progress but also open up significant prospects for Azerbaijan-US relations.
During the meeting, the importance of the project ensuring unhindered connectivity between Azerbaijan's western regions and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic was underlined.
Azerbaijan"s efforts over recent decades to develop the Middle Corridor through concrete projects - including the Baku–Tbilisi–Kars railway, the Baku International Sea Trade Port, and the Alat Free Economic Zone - were noted.
The country's strategic ties with partner states east of the Caspian Sea within the Middle Corridor framework, as well as with friendly and brotherly countries of Central Asia, were also emphasized.
According to the MFA, Azerbaijan's long-standing role in ensuring Europe's energy security was also discussed. In this context, it was stressed that the number of countries receiving Azerbaijani natural gas has reached 14.
In addition, Azerbaijan's active cooperation with partner countries in the development and transmission of renewable energy resources to Europe was noted, with particular attention given to projects such as the construction of a submarine power cable across the Black Sea.
An exchange of views was also held on other issues of mutual interest.
