Azerbaijan, Vietnam discuss political-economic collaboration

Azerbaijan's Deputy Foreign Minister Elnur Mammadov visited Hanoi, Vietnam, to participate in the 3rd meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic-Trade and Scientific-Technical Cooperation between Azerbaijan and Vietnam, SİA informs, citing Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry.

As part of the visit, Mammadov also met with Vietnam's Deputy Foreign Minister, Le Thi Thu Hang.

During the meeting, the parties discussed issues arising from the political consultations between the Foreign Ministries of Azerbaijan and Vietnam held in Baku on April 21, 2025.

They also reviewed the existing potential for expanding mutual partnership between Azerbaijan and Vietnam in the areas of politics, trade and economy, energy, agriculture, transport, and humanitarian spheres.

It was emphasized that relations had advanced to a new stage, reaching the level of strategic partnership, following the state visit of the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, To Lam, to Azerbaijan on May 7-8, and the importance of strengthening inter-parliamentary ties was noted.

The significance of the Azerbaijan-Vietnam Intergovernmental Commission's activities was highlighted, and the Protocol on the results of the Commission's 3rd meeting was signed, with the adopted Action Plan for 2025-2027 being highly appreciated.

The sides highlighted their confidence that the 3rd "Vietnam Days" to be organized in Baku at the end of July would serve to expand cultural relations.
