Farid Shafiyev: Anti-Muslim sentiment has increased in India in recent years

Anti-Muslim sentiment has seen a notable rise in India in recent years, Farid Shafiyev, Chairman of the Center of Analysis of International Relations (AIR Center), said during a press conference held ahead of the event titled "Islamophobia: Unmasking Prejudices and Breaking Stigmas."

He cited India's actions toward Pakistan and its treatment of the Muslim minority within the country as examples of this growing trend.

Shafiyev also highlighted the prevalence of Islamophobia in France, pointing to a recent act of vandalism against the statue of Azerbaijani poetess Khurshidbanu Natavan in Paris as a troubling incident reflecting such sentiment.
