Kamran Aliyev: Fight against corruption in Azerbaijan is based on comprehensive approach
The fight against corruption in Azerbaijan is based on a comprehensive approach, Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev said at the sixth plenary meeting of the UN's Global Operational Network of Anti-Corruption Law Enforcement Authorities (GlobE Network), held in Baku, Report informs.
According to Aliyev, in addition to criminal prosecution, a wide range of measures are being implemented, including institutional reforms, public awareness, the application of digital technologies and the participation of civil society:
"As noted in the president's address, the Anti-Corruption Commission and the Anti-Corruption General Directorate with the Prosecutor General
have a coordinating and leading role in this area. The principles of transparency and rule of law in public administration, founded by the National Leader of the Azerbaijani people, Heydar Aliyev, are being further developed under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev and continued with a zero tolerance stance towards corruption. The political will, specific goals and principled position of the country's leadership constitute the main foundation of the results we have achieved in this area."
Aliyev said that the ASAN service model, established in the country in 2012 and already recognized internationally, plays an important role in preventing corruption and strengthening trust in public administration as a transparent and agile service model for citizens:
"This innovative approach is an indicator of a successful public policy based on digitalization and transparency. With joint efforts, we are aiming to build a world that is more transparent, more honest and looks to the future with confidence. We must go one step further in this struggle to leave a just society and a bright tomorrow for future generations."
