The European Union (EU) expects a peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia to be signed soon, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas told journalists ahead of the European Political Community meeting in Albania, Report informs.
Kallas believes that Baku and Yerevan are very close to reaching an agreement: "I think that the earliest possible signing of a peace treaty is in the interests of all parties."
Kallas stressed that she plans to meet with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan within the framework of the European Political Community meeting: "I will meet with the Prime Minister of Armenia here. I will also go to Armenia. I believe that it is also important to think about what we can do to reduce tensions in the region."
