Iran has welcomed the agreement on the draft peace text between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

Speaking at an event hosted by the Center for Analysis of International Relations (AIR Center) in Baku, Saeed Khatibzadeh, Deputy Foreign Minister of Iran and head of the Ministry's Center for Political and International Studies, expressed Tehran's support for the peace process.

Khatibzadeh noted that the signing of a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan could be carried out through the initiative of the presidents of Iran and Azerbaijan.
