The United States is not considering withdrawing its troops from Europe, even as it prepares for a possible military conflict with China, said NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.
"The US is completely committed to NATO. There are no plans to withdraw [from Europe]. The Americans have said again and again ‘We are committed to NATO, we are committed to Article 5," he told a news conference when asked about the impact of Pentagon's preparations for a large conflict with China.
Rutte pointed out that military plans take a wide range of scenarios into account.
