The United Nations welcomes the agreements on safe navigation in the Black Sea reached by Russia and the US, Stephane Dujarric, Spokesperson for the UN secretary general, said at a briefing.
"We have seen the two announcements, which are welcome," he pointed out in response to a question.
President Vladimir Putin of Russia and President Donald Trump of the United States earlier launched diplomatic dialogue to restore bilateral relations and resolve the Ukraine conflict. As part of the process, the Saudi capital of Riyadh hosted Russia-US expert consultations, which lasted over 12 hours, focusing on the Black Sea Initiative.
