Euronews aired a new episode of its Focus, dedicated to the 12th Global Baku Forum.
The segment on the forum was published on the official website of the channel.
"The 12th Global Baku Forum gathered senior officials and policymakers to address pressing global issues under the theme "Rethinking World Order: Turning Challenges into Opportunities," the TV channel said.
It also noted that the discussions focused on EU enlargement, regional security in the South Caucasus, and post-conflict stability.
"Leaders stressed the need for greater international cooperation, with Albania reaffirming its European aspirations and experts underlining the importance of stability in the Western Balkans," Euronews notes.
The channel also provided exceprts from an interview with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, in which he underscored the importance of establishing a security mechanism for the South Caucasus, stressing the need to protect the region from any crises.
"Unfortunately, the region of the South Caucasus for decades was an area of confrontation and hostility. So now, we have a relatively quiet period. So, we need to concentrate on that and build security mechanisms that will be inclusive, eliminate any threat of another military confrontation, and try to live in the neighborhood as we used to in the times of the Soviet Union," the channel quoted from the interview.
Euronews also featured an interview with Albanian President Bajram Begaj, who spoke about the necessity of defending values.
"We are at a crossroads, defending the values we cherish: freedom, democracy, human dignity, and justice. These are the values we must protect," he said.
Concluding the segment, the channel focused on the security of the Balkan Peninsula and shared excerpts from an interview with former President of Montenegro, Milo Đukanović, who spoke about the region's connection to Europe and its EU accession process.
"This is a challenge for those making political decisions in the Western Balkans. But in my view, it is about the future of Europe in a new geopolitical context," he said.
At the end of the Forum, participants underlined its role in shaping policy discussions on global security and economic development.
