Ambassador: Azerbaijan interested in exchanging experience in green energy transition with Mexico
Azerbaijan is interested in exchanging experience in the field of green energy transition, as well as developing economic cooperation with Mexico, Azerbaijan's Ambassador to Mexico Mammad Talibov said in an interview with El Economista, Report informs.
He noted that Azerbaijan also seeks to strengthen cooperation with Mexico in the field of investment and trade.
"Despite the open dialogue and cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries, there is still room to grow in the economic sphere, given the existing potential. One of the main tasks of the embassy is to establish channels of interaction between entrepreneurs of Azerbaijan and Mexico," the ambassador emphasized.
Talibov noted that if a Mexican company wants to enter the markets of Central Asia, Europe, Türkiye or Russia, it can do so through Azerbaijan, using it as a hub. In addition, exchanges in the field of agriculture, technology or chip production can be established.
The diplomat reminded that Azerbaijan is a regional leader in renewable energy and can share with Mexico its experience in the field of green energy transition.
"We have signed memorandums of understanding with several EU countries and are implementing a project to export green energy to Europe. Azerbaijan has great potential for green energy - wind and solar," the ambassador assured.
According to Talibov, the tourist flow between Azerbaijan and Mexico has increased, but has not reached the necessary level, given the potential in developing tourist ties. Mexicans can easily obtain an electronic visa and get acquainted with Azerbaijan's diverse tourism infrastructure, he added.
In conclusion, the ambassador emphasized that Azerbaijan, which holds a strategic position at the intersection of transport and energy routes, can become a key partner for Mexico in such a promising region as the South Caucasus.
