Hackers breach PM Starmer's private email account back in 2022 — media

The personal email account of the current British Prime Minister, Keir Starmer, was hacked in 2022 when he was the leader of the opposition Labor Party, as revealed in the book "Get In" by The Times and The Sunday Times reporters Patrick Maguire and Gabriel Pogrund, SİA informs via TASS.

According to the reporters, UK security agencies suggested that Russia’s hackers may have been behind the cybercrime. The book, cited by The Times, indicates that Starmer had to change his personal email address after the incident.

Starmer was appointed UK Prime Minister in July 2024, following the Labor Party's victory in the parliamentary elections. According to the results, the party secured 412 out of 650 seats in the House of Commons, thus regaining power after 14 years in opposition.
