Azerbaijani prime minister: Joint efforts important for full launch of BTK
It is necessary to emphasize the importance of joint efforts between Azerbaijan and Georgia for the full launch of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars (BTK) railway line, Azerbaijan's Prime Minister Ali Asadov said at the 10th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between Azerbaijan and Georgia in Baku.
SİA informs that, according to him, as a result of additional investments from Azerbaijan and Georgia's efforts, the annual capacity of BTK has increased from 1 million to 5 million tons:
"This railway line, as well as the Baku International Sea Trade Port, are integral parts of the Middle Corridor. Currently, work is underway to increase the port's annual capacity from 15 million to 25 million tons. Georgian ports of Poti and Batumi are also important elements in the development of the Middle Corridor. We are very pleased that today the relevant agencies will sign a memorandum of cooperation in the field of transport corridor."
