As we reported, President Ilham Aliyev, who was leaving for the Russian Federation to attend the informal summit of the heads of state of the CIS member states to be held in St. Petersburg, was informed about the plane crash that occurred while in Russian airspace and instructed the head of state to return immediately, SİA reports.
Immediately after the plane landed at Heydar Aliyev International Airport, President Ilham Aliyev held a meeting regarding the incident.
