The ongoing processes in the modern world show that fighting climate change is not only about political will, Azerbaijani Ombudsperson Sabina Aliyeva said during a roundtable discussion on "Intellectual Property and Innovations for a Green Future" (Towards COP29), SİA informs.
Aliyeva noted that intellectual property plays an important role here:
"Protection of intellectual property rights is essential with the widespread application of green technologies. To achieve the stimulation of innovations related to the development of environmentally clean technologies, simplification of intellectual property rights as much as possible and acceleration of flexible licensing work can be particularly noted. Also, tax benefits and other financial support for companies investing in green technologies, research, and related work can be particularly effective."
According to the ombudsperson, continuous awareness-raising measures are also essential to achieve the goals.
