The Preliminary Conference of the Parties on Climate Change of the UN was held in Baku within the framework of Pre-COP.
Representatives of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Agreement on Climate Change, representatives of accredited diplomatic corps, government officials of a number of countries participated in the event.
The Designated President of COP29, Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan Mukhtar Babayev read the address of President Ilham Aliyev to the participants of the event.

PRE-COP29 event started in Baku on October 10.
Noted that the designated President of COP29, Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan, Mukhtar Babayev, Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technologies of the United Arab Emirates and President of COP28, First Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations Amina Mohammed, Executive Secretary of the Organization's Framework Convention on Climate Change Simon Stiell, Chairman of the Subsidiary Executive Body Nabeel Munir will speak at the opening ceremony of the event held at the Heydar Aliyev Center on the theme of "Enhance Ambition and Enable Action".
The event will last two days.
