Yerevan and Baku closer to signing peace agreement

Armenia and Azerbaijan have a real chance to sign a peace agreement in the shortest possible time, according to Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan.

According to SİA, speaking at a joint press conference with Xavier Bettel, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Foreign Trade of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, Mirzoyan expressed optimism about the progress in peace negotiations.

The foreign minister revealed that Yerevan and Baku have fully agreed on 13 out of the 16 articles of the peace treaty, with partial agreement on the remaining three. Armenia has submitted a tenth package of proposals to Azerbaijan.

"We believe there is a real opportunity to sign a peace agreement in a short time and open a page of long-term stability in the South Caucasus," Mirzoyan emphasized.
