Azerbaijani Prosecutor General reveals details of Karabakh separatists' case
Azerbaijan's Prosecutor General, Kamran Aliyev, has shed light on details surrounding the criminal case against Karabakh separatists.
Aliyev told News.ru that the investigation has concluded, and the materials will soon be submitted to the court.
The prosecutor general emphasized that the process of familiarizing both the accused and the victims with the criminal case materials is underway.
"As you know, there are many victims in this criminal case. Once all the investigative and operational measures are completed, the case will be sent to the court for consideration on the merits, in accordance with international norms and Azerbaijan's criminal legislation," Aliyev stated.
In different years, the Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan initiated criminal cases against 15 Karabakh separatists and put them on the international wanted list. In September 2023, following a local antiterror operation, the separatists were detained and brought to Baku, where they were handed over to the investigation. The charges against them include terrorism, financing of terrorism, creating illegal armed formations and groups, and conducting training for the purpose of committing terror acts.
In June 2024, Baku announced the completion of the investigation into their case.
