The Comoros representative: We will continue fighting for freedom until the end

“The neocolonial policy by France is still ongoing in our islands. People are suffering, being resettled from one place to another. As a result, thousands of indigenous people have lost their lives, and more than ten thousand have been expelled from the island,” Mohamed Toihiri, former representative of the Union of the Comoros at the UN, said at the Baku Initiative Group-organized international conference on “Illegal French Occupation of Mayotte Island of Comoros Union” held in Baku.

The former representative emphasized the need to amend the Constitution concerning the Comoros Islands. He criticized France for acting against international law principles and disregarding the rights of the indigenous people.

“We will continue fighting for freedom until the end," Toihiri underscored.
