"Each success of our country makes Azerbaijanis living abroad, including us, very happy. Restoring our territorial integrity makes all World Azerbaijanis proud. After the complete restoration of our sovereignty, another significant event took place in our country. It was the Presidential elections held on February 7. It was the first time that elections were held in all corners of Azerbaijan. Now, for the first time, parliamentary elections are being held in those areas, which legitimizes our victories," Farid Jafarli, chairman of the Council of Polish Azerbaijanis and Warsaw House of Azerbaijan, told Secki 2024 Independent Media Center.
According to him, the elections to the Milli Majlis will also go down in history as a significant event.
"For the first time, the upcoming parliamentary elections will cover all territories of Azerbaijan. This historic event is another positive result of the great victory of our country and people four years ago. Independent Azerbaijan, as a victorious country, can organize elections in its lands freed from occupation. The start of operation of election constituencies and precincts in Karabakh really makes each of us proud. This means that life has returned to our lands that were freed from occupation. Local people who lived in these areas are now participating in the election process by leaving their homes. Another importance of the current elections is that they are held according to democratic principles. With these elections, Azerbaijan once again shows the world an example of democracy. As our state protects our lands with honor, it always respects democratic values. This also gives us diaspora representatives an opportunity to talk more about our country in the places where we live and participate in the events, and to promote it with our heart. We wish the elections to end successfully, to bring success to our state and people," he concluded.
