Two polling stations of Tarter-Aghdara-Goranboy electoral district located in liberated territory

"The snap elections to the Milli Mejlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan scheduled for September 1 will be held in 59 precincts in the 97th Tarter-Aghdara-Goranboy constituency. Two of those stations are located in the liberated territories. Precinct No. 49 was set up in the building of Aghdara District Sugovushan Settlement Secondary School, and Precinct No. 50 was set up in the building of Aghdara City Culture House,” Chairman of District Election Commission Hamid Mehdiyev told Secki 2024 Independent Media Center. The chairman of the commission said that 49,185 voters were registered in the constituency. Of which 506 are young people who will exercise their right to vote for the first time, and 1,116 voters are between 80-100 years old, and seven voters are over 100 years old. According to him, preparations for the parliamentary elections to be held on September 1 in the district and precinct election commissions have been completed and all precincts have been prepared for voting. "Necessary conditions have been created in all polling stations for democratic, transparent and fair elections. Precincts are provided with necessary technical means and methodical means, electricity, communication network and fire safety. Booths have been set up for voters to express their views freely. Places for secretaries and members, as well as observers who will monitor the elections, have been determined at polling stations. A web camera has been installed in nine stations. Distribution of notices to voters about the date, time and place of voting has been completed," said H. Hamidov. The chairman of the commission added that six candidates for deputy were registered in the district and 887 observers were registered to monitor the elections.
