Chairman of Diaspora organization: "Right to vote to be guaranteed next time in liberated territories"

"Azerbaijan's electoral experience based on democratic traditions is accepted by the whole world. We will witness this tradition again in the elections to be held on September 1," Elshan Ibrahimov, chairman of the regional public organization "National-Cultural Autonomy of the Azerbaijanis of the Moscow Region", told Secki 2024 Independent Media Center.

The chairman of the diaspora organization said that the Azerbaijanis living in Russia closely follow the processes taking place in the homeland.

"We observe that preparations for the parliamentary elections are being conducted at a high level. The registration of numerous international observers to monitor the elections is an indication of great attention to Azerbaijan. This attention is also felt in the Russian public. I believe that on September 1, international attention will increase and Azerbaijan will show the whole world an example of a democratic election," he noted.

Elshan Ibrahimov pointed out that holding the elections to the Milli Majlis on September 1 in the liberated territories is a historic event.

"The right to vote in the liberated territories was ensured for the first time in the Presidential elections held on February 7 of this year. On September 1, the right to vote will be guaranteed again in Karabakh and East Zangezur," he said.

The diaspora activist expressed hope that the parliament that will be formed after the elections on September 1 will make an important contribution to the development of Azerbaijan.
