Citizens whose ID cards have expired to be able to vote in parliamentary elections - OFFICIAL

“Citizens whose identity cards have expired will be able to vote in the elections to the Milli Majlis,” the Deputy Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) Rovzat Gasimov told Secki 2024 Independent Media Center.

According to him, the necessary steps have been taken to ensure that citizens whose ID cards expire on the election-day can participate in voting using those cards.

"This issue was also discussed in the CEC in connection with the elections to the Milli Majlis to be held on September 1. We do not want those voters to be left out due to technical issues, even though the ID card has expired. Therefore, we will ensure that those voters vote with their expired ID cards. We have also informed the lower election commissions about this," said R. Gasimov.
