Kurshat Atilgan: "Azerbaijan comes long way on road to democratic development after regaining its independence"
"I am sure that Azerbaijan will show another example of democracy in the Milli Mejlis elections to be held on September 1," Turkish pundit Kurshat Atilgan told Secki 2024 Independent Media Center.
K. Atilgan noted that democratic traditions are developing in Azerbaijan.
"After regaining independence, Azerbaijan has traveled a long way on the path of democratic development. During this period, important work was done to ensure that all elections were held in accordance with international standards, and a rich electoral experience was formed. This experience suggests that the parliamentary elections to be held on September 1 will be held in a transparent manner in accordance with international standards and will be an example of democracy," he noted.
The Turkish expert called the holding of the elections to the Milli Mejlis in the liberated territories an important historical event. Because in these elections, the people returning to the liberated territories will elect their representatives to the legislature using the right to vote in their native land.
"This is an example of the successful continuation of the process of ensuring the right to vote in the entire territory of Azerbaijan and returning to liberated lands. We wish success to fraternal Azerbaijan", concluded K. Atilgan.
