Secki 2024 Independent Media Center reports that the author wrote about the importance of parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan, a country that has become the leader of the region, distinguished by its growing political influence and economic potential.

"In November, Azerbaijan will host the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP29) of the United Nations (UN) Framework Convention on Climate Change. Due to this internationally important event, the date of parliamentary elections in the country has been changed and set to September 1, 2024. The most important aspect is that the elections will be held for the first time in all territories of Azerbaijan, including territories had kept under the occupation by Armenia until 2020. Despite the resolutions adopted by the UN, it had not been possible to establish peace in the region. However, on September 27, 2020, a counter-offensive operation was launched in response to the Armenian armed forces firing on the positions of the Azerbaijani Army and civilian settlements. After the armed conflict that lasted forty-four days and led to the liberation of the occupied lands, and Azerbaijan became the main guarantor of peace in the Karabakh region. Azerbaijan is raising its reputation in the region as a state that is able to protect its sovereignty and national interests to a new level. For this reason, the importance of parliamentary elections is also increasing," the article reads.

It is worth noting that the well-known journalist Carlo Marino is also the vice-president of the Italian-Azerbaijani Association and the author of the book about the 2nd Karabakh war.
