"When talking about the preparation of the Azerbaijani people for the next elections, we should highlight one happy moment. For the first time, we are going to the parliamentary elections as a country that has fully restored its sovereignty. All our people are happy about this," People's artist of Azerbaijan Ilham Namiq Kamal told Secki 2024 Independent Media Center.
He noted that Azerbaijan is living its next historical days. Because the election process includes Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur.
"Four years ago, our people freed their land from occupation. We are a nation that made history with the 44-day Patriotic War. After that, we witnessed successful anti-terrorist measures that lasted less than a day. Perhaps we are the only nation that consistently achieves significant international successes due to our strength, bravery, and courage. Now we are holding parliamentary elections in the lands we liberated. I consider this fact a great historical event," said the People's Artist.
He noted that he welcomed the creation of necessary conditions for voting in the territories freed from occupation.
"Today, conditions are being created for them to go to the election without leaving their native homes comfortably. I am sure that the foreigners who will come to our country to observe the elections will treat us with great respect. Because they will watch our country hold parliamentary elections for the first time after gaining full sovereignty. The whole world will see that, as a nation, we have not only reclaimed and restored what was ours, but also brought democratic processes to our historical territories," people’s artist concluded.
