Russian President Vladimir Putin has expressed his gratitude to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev for the attention given to the Russian language in Azerbaijan, SIA reports.
"The Russian language is freely used everywhere in Azerbaijan. We see that the leadership of the Republic of Azerbaijan fully supports this trend. Ilham Aliyev, we are grateful to you for this attention given to the Russian language," Putin stated during a press statement with President Aliyev.
Putin also highlighted the discussions around the initiative to establish a Russia-Azerbaijan University in Baku, adding, "The President of Azerbaijan supported this initiative. I hope that we will implement it quite soon."
