"Like all processes in Azerbaijan, elections to Milli Majlis are carefully monitored in our country" - Uzbek professor

"Azerbaijan fully restored its sovereignty last September. Thanks to quick and successful measures, the factors that created a permanent threat to the territorial integrity of the country were eliminated. It is these achievements that have greatly increased the importance of the upcoming elections to the Milli Majlis," Erkin Nuriddinov, executive director of Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan Friendship Society, professor of Tashkent State Pedagogical University named after Nizami Ganjavi, told Secki 2024 Independent Media Center.

He noted that the processes that took place during the 44-day Patriotic War and after it were watched with great excitement by the Uzbek public.

"Any success achieved by Azerbaijan is greeted with great joy in our country. The upcoming elections to the Milli Majlis are of special importance. These elections, which will be held in all territories of Azerbaijan, are important for the country's democratic development and in some cases affect regional processes. Like all the processes in Azerbaijan, the elections to the Milli Majlis are carefully monitored in our country," he said.

The professor also noted that the parliamentary elections are of fundamental importance for Azerbaijan.

"I wish the people of Azerbaijan, a fraternal country, to live in prosperity even after these historic elections. I believe that the election process will take place in accordance with the law and international standards. We are sure that these elections will go down in history as the next celebration of democracy in Azerbaijan. I hope that the new parliamentary staff will contribute to the strengthening of Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan relations, as in previous years," the professor concluded.
