Parliamentary elections to be held in Azerbaijan are of strategic importance - Aygun Attar

"Azerbaijan has held snap elections once this year and is currently preparing for the second one. The reasons for holding presidential elections and parliamentary elections are mutually complementary," Chairman of Turkiye-Azerbaijan Friendship, Cooperation and Solidarity Foundation, Azerbaijani professor Aygun Attar told Secki 2024 Independent Media Center.

"After the Patriotic War, Azerbaijan entered a new era. In this period, Azerbaijan faces new strategies, steps for economic development, efforts to strengthen its place in the world. It is known that parliaments are legislative bodies in the country, after the liberation of our communities from occupation, there was a need to reform the Milli Majlis. Because Azerbaijan has fully restored its territorial integrity and sovereignty,” she said.

Aygun Attar added that holding parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan is a very important and strategic decision.

"As in many countries of the world, Azerbaijan should have a parliament that is more dynamic, more alive and adapted to the reality of the times for its multi-vector foreign policy, both in the short term and in the long term. I am sure that the new composition of the parliament will play a major role in regulating the national strategy, which is the basis of Azerbaijan's statehood," added Aygun Attar.
