Azerbaijan`s FM informs his Belarusian counterpart about region`s current realities

Azerbaijan`s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with his Belarusian counterpart Sergei Aleinik. Following a one-on-one meeting, Jeyhun Bayramov and Sergei Aleinik met in an expanded format.

The meeting included discussions on the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Belarus, preparation for the upcoming state visit of the President of Belarus to Azerbaijan, and the regional situation.

Both sides hailed the mutually beneficial cooperation in various sectors including the economy, trade, processing industry, agriculture, transport, tourism, pharmaceuticals, high technologies, and humanitarian domains over the past 30 years since establishing diplomatic relations.

Jeyhun Bayramov highlighted the significance of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, which plays a crucial role in expanding economic ties.

He emphasized the importance of comprehensive contacts between the leaders of both countries in developing the current political dialogue and noted the significance of the upcoming state visit of the President of Belarus and the signing of documents in various fields during the trip. He noted that the current bilateral relations of a strategic partnership were successfully continued within regional and international multilateral platforms, including the UN, OSCE, and the CIS.

FM Bayramov highlighted the current situation and realities in the region during the post-conflict period, the large-scale restoration and reconstruction works in the liberated territories, and potential future cooperation.

He mentioned Azerbaijan`s chairmanship of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP29) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, highlighting the negotiation process and organizational issues, and expressed support for active participation from partners within COP29.

The parties also exchanged views on other issues of mutual issues.
