Speaker of the National Assembly of Azerbaijan Meets with President of Bulgaria

Speaker of the National Assembly of Azerbaijan, Sahiba Gafarova, met with the President of Bulgaria Rumen Radev, SIA reports citing AZERTAC.

The President of Bulgaria first familiarized himself with the plenary session hall of the National Assembly.

In his visit to the Heydar Aliyev Museum at the National Assembly, Bulgarian President Rumen Radev signed the Guest Book.

Speaker of the National Assembly, Sahiba Gafarova, expressed confidence that the visit of the Bulgarian President will contribute to further strengthening and expanding relations between our countries.

Throughout the discussion, it was emphasized that Azerbaijan and Bulgaria are friendly, strategic partners. The importance of bilateral and high-level visits and meetings in the development of relations between the two countries was highlighted.

The significance of signing several important documents that will further develop bilateral relations today, as well as the participation of Bulgarian businessmen in the business forum, was noted.

The meeting highlighted that economic relations are one of the key components of bilateral relations. It was mentioned that there is significant potential and numerous opportunities to further enhance cooperation between our countries.

President Radev highlighted the importance of Azerbaijan-Bulgaria cooperation in contributing to Europe's energy security. He emphasized Azerbaijan's important role as a reliable partner in ensuring the continent's energy security architecture. Radev noted that Azerbaijan plays a significant role in the implementation of the "Southern Gas Corridor" project.

In the discussion, it was mentioned that in addition to traditional energy resources, considering Azerbaijan's restored energy production and export potential, cooperation in this area will further expand in this direction.

Sahiba Gafarova expressed her thoughts on the importance and positive impact of mutual and multilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Bulgaria as one of the significant factors, highlighting the importance of joint activities of friendship groups in deepening relations between our legislative bodies.

The meeting also highlighted the special significance and importance of humanitarian cooperation between Azerbaijan and Bulgaria, noting the successful development of relations in this field in recent years.

During the conversation, an exchange of ideas regarding Azerbaijan's hosting of COP29 took place.

The esteemed guest congratulated our country on hosting such a prestigious international event, expressing readiness to closely support Azerbaijan in organizing COP29.

Furthermore, prospects for the development of intergovernmental and interparliamentary cooperation, as well as discussions on other mutually beneficial issues, were exchanged.
