Azerbaijan and Australia Hold Inaugural Political Consultations

The first session of political consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and the Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade convened in Baku.

Heading the Azerbaijani delegation was Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Elnur Mammadov, while the Australian team was led by Rod Brazier, Deputy Secretary of the Development, Multilateral, and Europe Group.

Throughout the meeting, both sides delved into the current state of bilateral relations, exploring avenues for enhanced collaboration across political, economic, and humanitarian spheres, among others.

Deputy Minister Mammadov shed light on the regional dynamics in the aftermath of conflicts, emphasizing ongoing efforts in restoration, reconstruction, and demining within the liberated territories.

He underscored the favorable opportunities for collaboration stemming from Azerbaijan's hosting of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29).

Additionally, discussions revolved around potential avenues for joint endeavors within international organizations.
