Azerbaijani FM holds talks with Algerian counterpart during Qatar Visit

During his official trip to Qatar, Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov held talks with Algeria's Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ahmed Attaf.

In a cordial exchange, Minister Bayramov conveyed his warm wishes to Minister Attaf on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Algeria.

Both ministers hailed the robust collaboration between their nations in various international forums such as the United Nations (UN), the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). They emphasized the need to sustain reciprocal support for candidacies and initiatives within these organizations. Additionally, they stressed the significance of enhancing cooperation, particularly in the energy sector, and recognized the pivotal role of high-level visits and political consultations in this context.

Underlining the importance of strengthening bilateral inter-parliamentary ties, Minister Bayramov commended the recent visit of the Algeria-Azerbaijan Interparliamentary Friendship Group to Azerbaijan. Emphasizing the energy sector's centrality in bilateral relations, both sides highlighted the need to deepen collaboration in this area. Moreover, they seized upon the upcoming 29th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) in Azerbaijan as an opportunity to explore new avenues of cooperation.

The meeting delved into various regional and bilateral issues of mutual interest, fostering a constructive dialogue between the two nations.
