The delegation led by Mazahir Panahov, Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Azerbaijan left for a visit to Male city in order to observe the parliamentary elections to be held in the Republic of Maldives on April 21, 2024, Azerbaijani CEC told SİA.
According to the information, the participation of the delegation of the Central Election Commission as an international observer in the mentioned elections is implemented at the invitation of the Chairman of the Election Commission of the Republic of Maldives.
During the visit, representatives of Azerbaijan’s CEC will get acquainted with the preparations for the parliamentary elections and observe election day procedures at polling stations.
Within the framework of visit, Chairman Mazahir Panahov is expected to hold meetings with Fuwad Thowfeek, the chairman of the Election Commission of the Republic of Maldives, as well as with the heads of organizations participating in election observation and election management bodies of foreign countries, to discuss the possibilities of inter-institutional cooperation, development prospects of deepening relations, and issues of mutual interest.
