Armenian Parliament ratifies agreement on status of EU mission on border with Azerbaijan

The Armenian Parliament ratified the agreement between Yerevan and the European Union on the status of the EU civilian observation mission on the border with Azerbaijan, SİA informs via TASS.

Fifty-seven MPs voted for the ratification, while 27 MPs abstained. None of them voted against.

The agreement regulates the activities of the EU mission in Armenia, applies to the mission and its personnel, and defines the functions of the mission in the country.

The agreement also clarifies the functions of the relevant bodies aimed at ensuring the normal functioning of the EU mission in Armenia, border crossing procedures, movement within the territory of Armenia, privileges and immunities granted to the mission, as well as criminal jurisdiction, security and other issues related to access to information.
