Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with the personal representative of the Congolese President on strategic issues and international cooperation, François Joly.
The agenda of bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Congo was discussed during the meeting, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs told SIA.
The development of cooperation with African countries was emphasized as one of the main foreign policy priorities of Azerbaijan. It was stated that there are wide opportunities for the expansion of relations between Azerbaijan and Congo in the political, economic-trade and energy, as well as educational and humanitarian fields.
They also expressed satisfaction with the mutual support of our countries within the framework of the Non-Aligned Movement, the UN and other international institutions and platforms.
Within the framework of the scholarship program for the member states of the Non-Aligned Movement, the opportunities for students from the Congo to study in our country and the participation of representatives in the youth organization of the Non-Aligned Movement were considered.
Jeyhun Bayramov also pointed out that the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP-29), which will be held in Azerbaijan this year, creates additional opportunities for cooperation. Later, views were exchanged on bilateral and multilateral issues of mutual interest.
