The flags at the Turkish Embassy in Azerbaijan are lowered to half-mast, Ambassador Cahit Bagci told journalists at the Alley of Martyrs, SİA informs.
“Today is the mourning day for brother Azerbaijan. Flags at our embassy are lowered to half-mast. The land, if one dies for it, is the motherland. January 20 is a torch lit for freedom. Heroes sacrificed their lives that night.
This day is the date of the beginning of the desire for freedom. May God have mercy on all our martyrs. We believe that all the martyrs live and will live forever in the hearts of not only the people of Azerbaijan but also the people of Türkiye,” the ambassador said.
