Azerbaijan proposes to adopt an international mine clearance strategy, Deputy Prime Minister Ali Ahmadov said at the II Baku Sustainable Development Forum, SİA informs.
Ahmadov reminded that more than 300 civilians were killed as a result of mine explosions in the liberated territories. He emphasized that Azerbaijan remains one of the countries most contaminated with mines.
“We propose to adopt an international mine clearance strategy. I hope that Azerbaijan’s proposal will be met positively,” Ahmadov added.
The deputy prime minister noted that billions of manats of investment are needed to restore the territories liberated from occupation.
Ahmadov also added that Azerbaijan is interested in implementing the Sustainable Development Goals.
