President Ilham Aliyev's address to the participants of the int'l conference on neocolonialism released as a UN document
The address of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to the participants of the international conference on "Neocolonialism: Violation of Human Rights and Injustice" held in Baku on October 20 was released as an official document of the UN, SİA reports.
In his address, the head of state emphasized Azerbaijan’s concern about the continuation of colonialism and the strengthening of trends in new manifestations of colonialism in the 21st century, bringing to attention that France, which occupied dozens of countries in Africa, Southeast Asia, the Pacific Ocean, and Latin America, plundered their wealth and enslaved their peoples, committed numerous war crimes and crimes against humanity in these territories, subjected hundreds of thousands of civilians to genocide because of their ethnicity and religion, and deplored that the new and shameful practices of French colonialism continue today.
President Ilham Aliyev also drew attention to the fact that France is one of the countries in the world that has used the most mines and that Azerbaijan ranks among the countries most affected by mine explosions.
