Karasin: Talks between Russian, Azerbaijani, Armenian FMs should be taken positively
The trilateral meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia, held in Moscow on July 25, became a necessary stage in the context of the Armenian-Azerbaijani settlement, Grigory Karasin, head of the Russian Federation Council Committee on International Affairs, said on social media, SİA informs.
In his opinion, the negotiations should be taken positively.
"Sergey Lavrov's talks with colleagues from Azerbaijan and Armenia were not easy, but useful," he wrote.
Karasin noted that despite the difficulties of the negotiation process on a peace treaty between Baku and Yerevan, taking into account the rights and security of the Armenian population of Karabakh in the context of the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, the meeting in Moscow was a necessary and timely step.
"The participants reached an agreement to continue the efforts of the trilateral working group at the level of deputy prime ministers to unblock transport communications," he stressed.
The head of the committee added that the parties showed their intention to find solutions to problems through joint efforts. The ministers agreed to intensify contacts between political scientists and civil society.
