Azerbaijan clamors for Armenia to stop construction of Arazdeyen metallurgical plant
Azerbaijani Government demanded that Armenia to stop the construction of a large metallurgical plant in Arazdayan, bordering the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, APA reports.
In a letter addressed to the Minister of Environment of Armenia on behalf of the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mukhtar Babayev, it was noted that the appropriate procedure provided for in the "Convention on Environmental Impact Assessment in a Transboundary Context" (Espo Convention) has been initiated in connection with the activities that may have transboundary effects, which are carried out near Yeraskh settlement (Arazdayan), located a few hundred meters from the conventional border between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
