Seven years ago, during the resistance against the coup, Azerbaijani flags were also wawing along with the Turkish flag, Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Cahit Bagci said at the commemorative event on the occasion of the Democracy and National Unity Day of Türkiye, SİA informs.
“We honor the memory of the martyrs of the events of July 15 and thank our veterans once again. Before these events, there were coup attempts in Türkiye. However, the events of July 15 differed from the previous ones due to the bravery shown by our people. We value these events as a geopolitical step taken against a growing Türkiye.”
The diplomat added that July 15 was the last curtain of treacherous steps taken against Türkiye:
“Our people showed their will in 81 provinces that night and took care of democracy once again.”
“During the resistance against the coup seven years ago, as in the 44-day Patriotic War, along with the Turkish flag, Azerbaijani flags were also waving. This was another proof of the brotherly ties between the two nations,” Bagci said.
