Taiwan's Defense Ministry said on Monday that it detected 70 Chinese planes and 11 vessels around the island over the past 24 hours, SİA reports citing Teletrader.
The ministry added that 35 of the aircraft crossed the median line of the Taiwan Strait and entered Taiwan's southwest and southeast air defense identification zone.
Over the weekend, China carried out military drills around Taiwan, which it called a strong warning to the "Taiwan independence" secessionist forces and outside forces amid threats to the country's territorial integrity. Beijing later stated it conducted "simulated joint precision strikes on key targets" on Taiwan and surrounding sea areas.
